You're not alone in this
63 million Americans are family caregivers — one in four adults, up 45% since 2015 — and the average family caregiver spends about 27 hours a week on care (AARP / National Alliance for Caregiving, Caregiving in the US 2025). Almost none of that time comes with a system built for the people doing it. Mallowa is that system.
One shared workspace
How do families keep everyone caring for one person on the same page?
By replacing a dozen scattered threads with one shared, private workspace. In Mallowa, care notes, goals, medications, appointments, and files live on a single timeline that every authorized team member sees — so the morning caregiver's note is already there when the afternoon therapist arrives.
- A living hub for each person — care notes, goals, medications, crisis plan, sensory profile, and files in one place
- A timeline that shows every event across every domain on a single swimlane
- Messages and threads with the team, attached to the record instead of lost in texts
- A shared calendar for appointments, with reminders for the people who need them
Pricing, plainly
Is Mallowa free for families?
Yes. The Roots plan is free forever — one individual, up to ten team members, and everything you need to coordinate care, with no credit card required. Roots+ ($9/month) adds unlimited team members and telehealth visits; Growth ($19/month) adds an always-on AI that spots patterns across sleep, behavior, medications, and goals.
And if cost is ever the barrier: the sponsorship pool covers families who genuinely can't afford it — no questions asked.
Privacy, by design
Who can see what?
You decide. Every team member has role-based permissions you control, and every note carries a visibility setting — team-wide, clinical-only, family-only, or private to its author. The platform is HIPAA-compliant, every access is permission-checked and logged, and nothing about your person is ever sold or used for advertising.

An honest comparison
How is this different from what we already use?
Group texts are fast, binders are familiar, and tools like CaringBridge and Lotsa Helping Hands are genuinely good at what they're built for — updates and volunteer scheduling. None of them is a shared care record. That's the gap Mallowa fills, and it works alongside any of them.

Common questions
Questions families ask us
Do the people on our care team have to pay?
No. Team members you invite — family, caregivers, therapists, teachers — join your workspace at no cost under your plan. The free Roots plan includes up to ten team members around one individual.
Can I control what a new caregiver sees?
Yes. Every team member has role-based permissions you control, and every note carries a visibility setting — team-wide, clinical-only, family-only, or private — so a new caregiver sees exactly what they need and nothing more.
What happens if we outgrow the free plan?
Roots stays free forever. If you need unlimited team members or telehealth, Roots+ is $9/month; Growth at $19/month adds an always-on AI that surfaces patterns across notes, sleep, behavior, and medications. You can change plans anytime.
Is our information sold or used for advertising?
Never. Mallowa runs no ad trackers on care data, sells no data, and shows no advertising. The platform is HIPAA-compliant, and every access to your person's record is permission-checked and logged.
Can the person receiving care manage their own account?
Yes. Individuals can hold and manage their own account — with the same authority a parent or guardian would have — and the care team coordinates around them. Mallowa is built for every arrangement, from parents coordinating for a child to adults directing their own care.
What if we genuinely can't afford a paid plan?
The sponsorship pool covers families who can't afford Mallowa — no questions asked. Apply from the sponsorship page and a sponsored subscription is applied to your account when one is available.
